In an article published in TIME magazine, Israeli Minister of Finance Yair Lapid wrote that Hamas’s rule in Gaza “has resulted in the murder of hundreds of Christians just because they are Christians”.
TIME did not bother to fact-check that claim.
Yadin Elam May, a lawyer who has worked with the Israeli human rights group Gisha, however, did fact-check it, pointing out in the Israeli daily Haaretz that the number of Christians who have been murdered just because they are Christians is precisely one.
