On May 19, 2023, presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. spoke at the Bitcoin 2023 event in Miami, Florida. He talked about the existential threat of governments abusing their power to control access to currency to silence critics and control people’s behavior and about the critical importance of currency decentralization and competition. This is a great talk that shows how he really gets it!
The Federal Reserve, remember, is a government-legislated monopoly over the supply of currency. Economic freedom is impossible as long as that monopoly power remains in place, and RFK, Jr. clearly understand the importance of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in breaking that system of control and economic servitude. Central banks exist to effect a transfer of wealth upwards from the poor and middle class to the politically and financially elite.
To learn more about how the Fed’s inflationary monetary policy also caused the housing bubble that precipitated the 2008 financial crisis, check out my book Ron Paul vs. Paul Krugman: Austrian vs. Keynesian Economics in the Financial Crisis. Here’s how it was described in a review in Barron’s:
“Any work of economics that can make you laugh is at least worth a look. If in less than 100 pages it also informs you about a subject of great importance, it might just qualify as a must-read. Jeremy Hammond, a political journalist self-taught in economics and a writer of rare skill, has produced such a book…. This short work conveys more insight into the causes and cures of business cycles than most textbooks, and more about the recent business cycle than most volumes of much greater length.”

Good stuff Jeremy. Keep going.
Will do! Thanks for the feedback.
