US Policy Toward Iran

How the US has served Israel by warmongering against Iran.

The US government used 9/11 as a pretext to advance the neocon geopolitical aim of establishing global hegemony and facilitating Israel’s land theft and oppression of the Palestinians. First Afghanistan, then Iraq, then Syria… Also in the crosshairs has been Iran.

The main pretext utilized to justify US policy toward Iran has been its nuclear energy program operating under the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and IAEA safeguards regime. The US has long accused Iran of aiming to develop nuclear weapons despite evidence to the contrary, and the claim that Iran has threatened to “wipe Israel off the map” — a quote attributed to former President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad — is a media fabrication.

Here are articles I’ve written about US policy toward Iran that address the government and media propaganda to set the record straight.

Threats of Israeli War Against Iran Escalate

Der Spiegel reports that "The Israeli government no longer believes that sanctions can prevent Iran from building nuclear weapons. A broad consensus in favor of a military strike against Tehran's nuclear facilities -- without the Americans, if necessary -- is...

The Framework for Debate on Iran

As with Iraq, the issue is not about weapons of mass destruction or failed obligations under existing treaties, but about ensuring U.S. credibility in its pursuit of global hegemony.
