The Israel-Palestine Conflict

A collection of articles correcting propaganda narratives that obfuscate the true nature of the conflict and manufacture consent for government policies that perpetuate the violence.

A major problem with the world today is that most of what people think they know about the seemingly intractible conflict between Israelis and Palestinians just isn’t true.

I have spent years deeply researching and writing about the conflict from the perspective of an American concerned about the US’s role in perpetuating the violence.

I’ve written a number of books on the conflict, including my magnum opus on the subject, Obstacle to Peace: The US Role in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.

Following is also a collection articles I’ve written about the topic that expose mainstream propaganda narratives serving to prevent a just and peaceful resolution.

ICJ Declares Israel’s Occupation Illegal

The International Court of Justice has ruled that Israel’s prolonged occupation of Palestinian territory violates international law.

How Israel Supported Hamas Against the PLO

When Hamas was first organized, the Israeli government viewed it as a useful counterforce to Yasser Arafat’s Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

The Libertarian View on Gaza

Scott Horton and I apply the libertarian non-aggression principle to Israel's assault on Gaza to determine the only right position.

The Green Line

The Legacy of the Balfour Declaration 106 Years Later

This 106th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration is an appropriate moment to recall that the existence of Hamas is a consequence and not the cause of the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Debate: Is Israel’s War on Gaza Justified?

I argued the negative to the debate resolution that “Israel is justified in doing ‘whatever it takes’ to ‘completely destroy’ Hamas in Gaza”.

Why Israel Has No ‘Right to Exist’

Apologists for Israel’s crimes against the Palestinians claim the state has a “right to exist” in an effort to legitimize the ethnic cleansing of Palestine.

UN Resolution 242’s True Significance vs. Popular Zionist Myth

Contrary to the popular Zionist myth upon which the entire so-called "peace process" was premised, UN Security Council Resolution 242 requires Israel to fully and immediately withdraw its armed forces from occupied Palestine.
